Ford Motor Company today announced it will produce the next-generation Ford Explorer SUV at the company’s Chicago Assembly Plant beginning in the fourth quarter of this year. The new version of Explorer, well-known SUV that once was one of Ford’s highest-flying models, will move to a unibody platform and gets at least 25% better gas mileage than the stagnant model it replaces.

DETROIT - Ford Fusion Hybrid won the 2010 North American Car of the Year award, and Ford Transit Connect got the Best Truck award. Winning both of these prestigious awards is confirmation that the ONE Ford plan is working. Ford was the only domestic automaker to gain market share last year.
